Operating System is software that controls and coordinated the overall functions of a computer is called an Operating System. An operating system is a program that acts as a mediator between the software and hardware.

An operating system is software that performs all the basic tasks like file management, memory management. security, handling input and output, process management, handling peripherals devices, etc.

 Some of the popular operating systems are given as dos, Linus, VMS, Windows XP, Windows 7,  Windows 8, Windows 10, etc.
